About the role
Within this position, your main area of responsibility will be preparing high quality, nutritious meals for our residents with different care needs and special dietary requirements. You have the opportunity to make meal time the highlight of the day for our residents, and ensure adherence to food safety regulations. Sharing your cooking experience and compassionate and patient nature, you will actively contribute to establishing high standards of customer service to our residents and participate in continuous improvement.
Within this casual position, you will be required to work a variety of shifts including weekends. If you are looking for a rewarding role that has a positive impact on the lives of seniors, this might be the right opportunity for you.
Your highly developed prioritisation, time management, leadership and problem solving techniques are just some of your strengths. You should really enjoy working with older people and have empathy to their needs. You have comprehensive understanding of legislation relevant to the industry plus knowledge and application of safe food hygiene practices.
Your experience and qualifications for this role ideally, should include:
- A Certificate III in Hospitality is preferred;
- Experience in the Aged Care industry is preferable, not essential as training is provided;
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation and cooking processes, food hygiene control and cleaning chemicals used in a kitchen.
