About the role

DigiAsk is a Churches of Christ Housing Services initiative and we are currently looking for a volunteer driver who is available to drive our Mobile Housing Office. The vehicle requires only a regular drivers' licence to drive, but experience driving a larger vehicle is a bonus. We are looking for a driver who will be available to take the van to and from Bribie Island, arriving at 10.00 AM and departing at 2.00 PM, once a week. The time between arrival and departure is yours and there is no obligation for you to remain at the van during this time.

Volunteers require a current C Class Drivers Licence and must be willing to drive a Mercedes Sprinter medium wheel base van. The vehicle has been custom designed for the project, with a high level of technical specification, and full training in its operation will be provided. We do ask that volunteers have a clean driving history and be prepared to collect and return the vehicle to Churches of Christ in Queensland offices in Kenmore on the day of operation. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months.

About you

  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • You will be patient, friendly and outgoing
  • Following instructions and working in a cooperative way will be paramount in this role
  • A desire to have fun will go a long way!
  • A weekly or fortnightly commitment would be ideal

Training Requirements

Churches of Christ in Qld encourages all volunteers to complete training that is appropriate for their role. We do this to keep you and the people you will be supporting safe and healthy. Training occurs in a variety of ways and we will work with you to provide access and support.

When you accept a volunteer role, you will be asked to sign a position description that will clearly define the training requirements.

Have no fear, we make training as easy and accessible as possible!

Personal History Screening

All volunteers supporting vulnerable people require a current criminal history check. In residential aged care and community care there are strict legislative requirements governing this.

What if I don't have a Police Check?

Don't worry - we can apply for one and cover the cost for you. As soon as you have passed the check, you will be able to volunteer.

Churches of Christ in Qld is a smoke free workplace.
