The importance of the role 

You will be responsible for the provision of complex health and safety advice and support to our stakeholders.  

Coordinating projects for the continuous improvement of our WHS Management System, you will need to draw upon your analytical skills and professional approach. You will utilise your initiative to solve problems on the run and offer flexible and supportive coaching to your peers and stakeholders.  

You will have the opportunity to undertake significant consequence incident investigations, as well as establish incident causes and provide recommendations for resolution.  

Your days will be varied, however, your core duties will include:  

  • Positively influencing and driving forward the agenda for beneficial health and safety change in the workplace; 
  • Designing and conducting HSW audits and inspections to assess compliance to key requirements of the safety management framework and risk management systems; 
  • Undertaking analysis, reporting and making recommendations against key Health, Safety and Rehabilitation deliverables.  

  

This role is predominantly based in Brisbane, however, some travel will be required. 

This is a 12 Month fixed term contract.

Your qualifications and experience should include:  

  • Degree qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or related discipline, or relevant equivalent work experience; 
  • Related industry knowledge of contemporary issues; 
  • Minimum five years' experience in a WHS role with broad range of competence in advising an organisation on the common hazards and risks in our industries; 
  • Demonstrated experience in Work, Health and Safety Systems administration and legislative requirements; 
  • National Police Certificate or the ability to acquire.
