Churches of Christ in Queensland, Residential Aged Care Service, Little Mountain Campus

Permanent, part-time opportunity

Imagine a job where everything you did made a difference

About the role

We are expanding to secure the future of Caloundra and the Sunshine Coast as the prime location of choice for the provision of seniors residential and community care services and you will be a part of that. Our Little Mountain Integrated Campus opened in February and we now need a Lifestyle Officer to join our team and growing family of residents.

As a Lifestyle Officer, you will be responsible for providing activities that are designed to enhance the physical, cultural, spiritual and social well-being of our residents. You have the ability to drive and implement our Positive Wellbeing Model (PWM) by working closely with residents, families and the nursing team to achieve successful outcomes.

You will evaluate group & individual lifestyle programs and facilitate the participation of residents in a variety of experiences improving their quality of life. You will also assist a team of allied health professionals to assess resident's individual needs.

This is a part time role and will require you to work on Saturdays.

About you

You are a dynamic and motivated individual who thrives on innovation when it comes to enriching the lives of the elderly. Whether it be a concert at the facility or a day out on the bus, your main goals are to motivate, inspire and involve the residents. You are passionate about lifestyle therapy, with excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. You have a fun loving nature along with compassion and understanding of individual needs.

Ideally you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or a Certificate Level III or IV in any area of dementia, neurological disorder, intellectual impairment, music, arts, massage or other qualification related to diversional therapy;
  • Experience in developing and implementing contemporary leisure and recreational programs, within the Aged Care industry;
  • The ability to obtain National Police Certificate;
  • A current First Aid certificate is highly desirable.

Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: modelling unconditional love; behaving with integrity; and being good stewards.
