St George, QLD | Full-Time

Competitive salary + car | Accommodation provided | Salary packaging benefits | Relocation assistance may be available

Are you an experienced Care Coordinator or Care Manager ready to take the next step into Service Management?

Churches of Christ is seeking a capable and values-driven Service Manager to lead our Warrawee Aged Care Service in St George, Queensland. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role within a small 25-bed residential aged care service, making it an ideal starter site for an experienced clinical leader who is ready to grow their operational leadership career.

This opportunity has become available due to an internal promotion, creating a positive and well-supported transition for the incoming leader.

With accommodation provided, salary packaging benefits as a not-for-profit organisation, relocation assistance potentially available, and a competitive salary package including a car, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit regional community while being supported by the broader Seniors Living leadership team.

About the role

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, care delivery, operational performance and culture of the service. You will work closely with your Regional Manager and onsite team to ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care in line with Churches of Christ’s Positive Well-being Model of Care.

The incoming Service Manager will be well supported by a strong Care Manager and an experienced, long-standing Administration Officer, providing valuable continuity, local knowledge and operational support from day one.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team across nursing, care, allied health, support services, volunteers and external health providers, ensuring strong clinical governance, workforce engagement, compliance, occupancy and financial performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building strong relationships with residents, families, staff and the local community.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Provide visible and supportive leadership across the service.
  • Ensure high standards of residential care, lifestyle programs and customer service.
  • Oversee clinical indicators, quality outcomes, accreditation standards and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workforce planning, team culture, performance and engagement.
  • Manage operational and financial performance targets.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, staff, stakeholders and the local community.
  • Support occupancy, service reputation and community connection.
  • Promote a culture of safety, transparency, ethical leadership and continuous improvement.

About you

You may already be an experienced Service Manager, or you may be a strong Care Manager, Clinical Manager or senior aged care leader ready to take the next step.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or other relevant clinical professional; or relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in health or business administration.
  • Recent management experience within aged care, health administration or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of residential aged care standards, funding, compliance and clinical governance.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to inspire, guide and develop teams.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence managing operational priorities, quality outcomes and financial performance.
  • A positive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • Australian Work Rights (sponsorship not available for this role)

Experience using electronic documentation systems and postgraduate qualifications in nursing, business, human resources, quality or health management would be highly regarded.
