Bundaberg, QLD | Perm Part-Time (45 hours p/f)

Are you a reliable and passionate Cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and making a positive difference in the lives of older Australians?

About the Role

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals, undertaking basic cooking duties, and ensuring the kitchen and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and hygienic manner. You will play an important role in supporting residents’ wellbeing through quality food service while working collaboratively within the Gracehaven Aged Care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and undertake basic cooking and food handling duties
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen in line with food safety and infection control standards
• Complete basic record keeping (e.g. meal numbers, missed meals, fridge/freezer temperatures)
• Assist with ordering and stock control in consultation with the Supervisor and suppliers
• Provide high-quality, customer-focused service to residents and stakeholders
• Actively support continuous improvement, safety and quality standards

About You

You are a team-focused Cook who values quality, safety and service excellence. You are comfortable working in a regulated environment and enjoy contributing to a positive, respectful workplace culture.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes and food hygiene
• At least 1 years’ experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment
• Basic computer skills (e.g. Outlook and internet use)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain, where applicable)
• Australian Work Rights (Sponsorship unavailable for this role)
