Service Manager

We have a new opportunity for experienced Service Manager to lead Arcadia Aged Care, our welcoming 103‑bed residential aged care service in Essendon, Victoria.

You would consider yourself a thoughtful, capable leader who enjoys bringing together people leadership, operational oversight, and commercial responsibility to create a service where residents feel safe and supported, and teams feel proud of the work they do.

You will be trusted to lead the service day‑to‑day, with the support of an experienced Regional Manager and access to national clinical, quality, and corporate expert teams.

About the role

As Service Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the performance, sustainability, and culture of the service.

We have a strong clinical leadership team already in place, hence as Service Manager you will take the lead in ensuring strong governance, effective leadership and positive outcomes for residents, families, and staff.

This role suits leaders who enjoy seeing the whole picture, people, care, operations, and finances, and who are comfortable making sound people, operational and financial decisions within a supportive governance framework.

Your core focus:

  • Lead the overall operational and financial performance of the service, including budget accountability and P&L outcomes.
  • Lead sustainable occupancy outcomes through strong community, hospital, and referral relationships.
  • Ensure workforce planning and rostering support care minute requirements and team wellbeing.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary leadership team, providing clarity, coaching, and support.
  • Maintain oversight of compliance, risk, and complaints, ensuring issues are identified and addressed early.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the local community.
  • Work collaboratively with regional and corporate teams to continuously improve how the service operates.

About You

You are a capable and people‑centred leader who enjoys responsibility and values collaboration and will bring:

  • Experience leading services in aged care, health, human services, or another regulated environment.
  • A solid understanding of operational and financial management, including budgets.
  • The ability to lead, support and hold others accountable in a respectful and practical way.
  • Confidence navigating workforce planning and performance conversations.
  • Sound judgement, emotional intelligence, and a calm leadership style.
  • A genuine commitment to quality service and positive resident and family experiences.
  • Clinical registration (such as Registered Nurse with AHPRA) is not necessary for this role but can form part of the service model set up.
