About the role.  

The Physiotherapy Aide is responsible for aiding and working under the direction of the Physiotherapist in the delivery of physiotherapy programs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Under the direction of the Physiotherapist, assist to develop, maintain and monitor physiotherapy programs; participate in case conferences for residents where required.  
  • Assist in providing physiotherapy to residents in accordance with physiotherapy programs and the resident care plan.  
  • Assist to ensure equipment is maintained in a safe working order; assist to assess for replacement and refer to maintenance department.  
  • Perform therapeutic services under the direction of the Physiotherapist including exercise, mobility, application of splints and other therapy required.  
  • Assist to maintain and ensure completion and accuracy of documentation including recording of treatments.  
  • Contribute to resident and service outcome reports, as requested by the supervisor 

About you 

You are an empathetic, kind and caring person that is passionate about aged care. You are resident focused and enjoy taking the time to get to know the residents to provide the best possible care. As a positive individual, you are eager and willing to learn and support team members where you can.    

Ideally your skills knowledge and experience should include: 

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or Certificate III in Aged Care.  
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. 
  • Demonstrated experience as a Physiotherapy Aide in an aged care environment
