About This Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial and Analytics, the Senior Commercial and Reporting Analyst is responsible for:
- Developing and Analysing KPIs – lead develop and review performance metrics, identify cost-saving and/or commercial opportunities across the business, and deliver decision-making insights.
- Support Strategic Decision-Making – lead cost/benefit modelling and financial modelling for projects and initiatives to guide future commercial strategies and identify market trends or opportunities.
- Enhance Reporting & Data Analysis – lead and improve our business analysis capabilities using data tools like Power BI and collaborate on data cube development.
- Financial Reporting – drive our performance analysis and reporting processes to support commercial and operational trend assessments.
- Forecasting and Budgeting – lead and develop our forecasting and budgeting tools to improve yearly process (we use Prophix for this).
- Mentoring – support the wider Commercial team as a leader and mentor, develop our skills and culture, and enhancing our offering to the business.
- Senior Leadership – Support the GM with a range of executive activities, such as board reporting, projects, business opportunity modelling, and as commercial representative for meetings.
- Projects – identifying and leading commercial projects and process improvement opportunities to uplift or build new commercial offerings for the business.
Key deliverables in the role:
- Develop and assess commercial performance KPIs.
- Develop and manage CBA and financial modelling analysis to support commercial decisions.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify and implement reporting enhancements.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities across the commercial teams reporting and service offerings.
- Mentor the team to develop detailed analysis, information, and recommendations for the business.
- Develop operational performance and trend reporting for the business.
- Lead forecast and future planning processes and tools to support commercial growth and confidence.
- Collaborate with wider finance teams to improve data integrity, processes, and consistent documentation across the teams.
- Provide financial management training at an operational and corporate level.
- Complete quarterly Board reports, year-end statistical analysis, and support finance management as required.
What You Bring
- Qualifications & Expertise: A degree in Finance (or equivalent) and CPA or CA (ideal but not essential)
- Extensive experience in a business advisory/partnering role.
- Technical Excellence: Advanced skills in Power BI, Excel, and other analytical tools; experience with Prophix is a plus as well as with strong financial modelling capability.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to manage teams, influence stakeholders, and inspire change.
