Churches of Christ Queensland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical leadership capability to step into a Care Manager role at our Palms Aged Care Service in Ingham, North Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into your first formal leadership role, with the support of an experience Service Manager and broader leadership team as you develop your management capability. 

Palms is a 50-bed residential aged care service, providing you with the opportunity to make a genuine impact in a close-knit environment where you can build strong relationships with residents, families and your team.

As Care Manager, you will provide clinical leadership across the service, supporting high-quality resident care, clinical governance and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to step into leadership while being supported to develop your management capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a collaborative approach to residential care planning and quality improvement.

  • Review AN-ACC data for accuracy before submission.

  • Monitor clinical practice, procedures, programs and initiatives.

  • Oversee resident documentation and compliance with organisational requirements.

  • Coordinate and monitor clinical care delivered by staff and external providers.

  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing and care team.

  • Contribute to a positive culture where residents receive compassionate, individualised care and employees are supported to deliver their best.

This position is formally designated as a Responsible Person under the Aged Care Act 2024.

About You

You don't need to have previously held the title of Care Manager.

We are particularly interested in hearing from Senior RNs, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical Leads, Acting Care Managers, Acting Service Managers and experienced Registered Nurses who are ready to take their next career step.

You will bring strong clinical knowledge, confidence in decision-making and a genuine passion for quality care. Just as importantly, you'll be someone who is eager to develop their leadership capability and take on greater responsibility in a supportive environment.

You will have

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior clinical, leadership or mentoring capacity.

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The confidence and capability to lead change, mentor and contribute to quality and continuous improvement.

  • An understanding of clinical governance, resident safety and legislative compliance.

  • A genuine commitment to providing exceptional care to older people.

Experience in residential aged care is highly regarded; however, we are open to experienced acute-care nurses who are looking to transition their clinical leadership skills into aged care.

You must hold valid Australian working rights (we are currently not able to sponsor), a current National Police Check (or ability to acquire), current CPR and an unrestricted driver's licence.
