At Churches of Christ, we have a new opportunity for a dedicated Support Practitioner to join our Children, Youth & Families team in Bundaberg.
What You'll Do
Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of children, young people, and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
Individualised Care Planning: Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
Crisis Intervention: Provide timely support during crises to ensure safety and stability.
Advocacy: Advocate for clients to access necessary resources and services.
Skill Development: Facilitate evidence-based parenting programs and workshops.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with organisational standards.
Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure services are culturally safe and inclusive, respecting the diverse backgrounds of clients.
What You'll Need
Relevant Qualifications: Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Demonstrated experience in child protection, family support, or community services.
Knowledge: Understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care frameworks.
Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Essential:
Possess a National Police Check,
Working with Children (Blue Card),
Licensed Care Service (Child Protection) or the ability to acquire.
