Fixed Term, Full-time Opportunity 

The Salary range is $44 to $47 per hour.  Hourly rate based on experience.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, young people and families? At Churches of Christ, we are seeking a dedicated Family Support Practitioner to join our Children, Youth & Families team in Bundamba.

About the role

We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to deliver holistic support to children, young people, and families. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualised care plans, providing crisis intervention, and advocating for access to essential services. You’ll facilitate evidence-based parenting programs, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure culturally safe and inclusive practices.

What You’ll Need

  • Relevant Qualifications: Degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or a related field (or equivalent with more than 4yrs experience).
  • Experience: Demonstrated one years’ experience working with children, young people and families in child protection, family support, or community services context.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care frameworks.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Possess a current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or the ability to obtain.
