Your Role

As a Support Practitioner, you’ll provide critical support to children, young people, foster and kinship carers, and families. Your role will involve delivering evidence-based programs, building professional networks, and working collaboratively to create safe, nurturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate intake, screening, and placement processes for foster and kinship care.
• Provide in-home, crisis, and short-term intervention support.
• Coordinate case management, develop care plans, and maintain accurate client records.
• Deliver parenting programs and support carer recruitment and retention.
• Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to deliver culturally inclusive services.
• Participate in rotational on-call support for clients when required.

What You Bring

• A degree in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Understanding of child protection frameworks and trauma-informed care.
• Strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
• Cultural competency, particularly in engaging with First Nations communities.
• A current driver’s license and the ability to complete relevant safety checks.
