 About the role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people, foster and kinship carers, and families, ensuring they thrive in safe, nurturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate, client-focused care, including risk assessments and direct support.
  • Collaborate with carers to develop support plans, identify training needs, and provide ongoing guidance.
  • Partner with community agencies to foster professional networks and enhance service delivery.
  • Use therapeutic approaches to address client needs, communicate issues effectively, and support continuous service improvement.
  • Assist with carer recruitment, assessment reports, and ongoing professional development.

About you

You are passionate about the welfare of children and young people and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them. You will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth, and Family Intervention, Certificate III in Community Services, or equivalent qualifications and experience with a willingness to participate in further training.
  • One year of experience in child protection or community services, working directly with children, youth, and families.
  • Skilled in crisis intervention, assessment, and short-term therapeutic support.
  • Passionate about culturally inclusive practices, with an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Possess essential certifications, including a National Police Certificate, Blue Card, and Child Safety Screening Check (LCS) or are willing to obtain them.
  • Current driver’s license (P2 minimum) and are willing to travel locally as required.
  • The role is 76 hours a fortnight, Monday-Friday, inclusive of paid PDO a fortnight.
