Do you love bringing people together and creating meaningful experiences? Are you someone who thrives on organisation, connection and purpose? At Churches of Christ, we’re looking for an Event Coordinator who wants their work to truly make a difference.
This is more than just events — it’s about building community, celebrating milestones and supporting a mission that has positively impacted Australians for over 140 years.
About you and your new opportunity:
As our Event Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in bringing our story to life through thoughtfully planned and well‑delivered events. Working closely with our Marketing and Communications team, you’ll help coordinate a wide variety of events that strengthen community relationships, engage stakeholders and support organisational priorities.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration and seeing ideas come together — from the early planning stages right through to post‑event wrap‑ups.
In this hands‑on and people‑focused role, you will:
Help plan, coordinate and deliver a range of events, including community events, internal celebrations, launches, open days and stakeholder engagements
Take ownership of event logistics, making sure everything runs smoothly on the day from set-up to pack-down, and being available on-site during events
Coordinate and care for event equipment, keeping resources organised and fit for future use
Work closely with our Marketing & Communications Team to support event promotion across internal channels, digital platforms, email, social media and printed materials
Build positive, respectful relationships with staff, volunteers, community partners and suppliers
Assist with event administration, budget management, credit card reconciliation and invoice processing
Keep shared event spaces organised, safe and welcoming
Contribute to post event evaluation, gathering feedback, reflecting on what worked well, and identifying improvements to continuously improve the quality of our events.
What you will bring to our team:
We’re looking for someone who brings both skills and heart, including:
A qualification in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality or similar — or equivalent experience
Around 2–3 years’ experience coordinating or delivering events, or a strong interest in commencing a career in Event Coordination and Management
A friendly, people‑centred approach with strong communication skills
Confidence using Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Planner and Outlook – to plan, track, communicate and deliver events effectively.
A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across South‑East Queensland
An appreciation for and genuine alignment with the values of Churches of Christ
Experience in community, not‑for‑profit, aged care or service‑based organisations will be highly regarded.
