The Seniors Living Chaplain is a key member of the team providing holistic care and support to our Churches of Christ community.

Churches of Christ is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Seniors Living Chaplain to join our team in Stanthorpe. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide holistic care and support to residents, family members, and staff across our Seniors services.

About You

As the Seniors Living Chaplain, your responsibilities will include:

  • Pastoral Care: Provide confidential emotional and spiritual support to clients, families, and staff.
  • Spiritual Development: Partner with managers to foster a Jesus-centred spirituality through services and programs.
  • Community Engagement: Help staff create a welcoming, homelike environment for residents.
  • Team Collaboration: Share pastoral insights as part of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Volunteer Support: Build and lead a strong volunteer team in partnership with local churches and stakeholders.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Certificate IV in Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy, Christian Ministry, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in providing pastoral care or chaplaincy services within a health or community environment.
  • Endorsement: Eligibility for endorsement as a Ministering Person with Churches of Christ in Queensland.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to model a missional lifestyle, communicate Christian beliefs effectively within the Australian context, and exhibit servant leadership qualities.
  • Compliance: Possess a current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.
